QuantiFERON-TB Gold is a blood test used to help detect tuberculosis infection, including latent TB infection. It is commonly used for school, employment, healthcare, immigration, or exposure-related screening.
This test does not determine whether TB is active or contagious by itself. Positive results should be reviewed with a qualified healthcare provider and may require additional evaluation, such as a chest X-ray or clinical assessment.
