About this test

A blood allergy panel designed to evaluate IgE sensitivity to a broad set of common food allergens.

This panel measures food-specific IgE antibodies for selected foods including milk, egg white, peanut, tree nuts, wheat, soy, sesame, fish, shellfish, and related markers. It may be useful for patients with suspected food-related allergic symptoms such as hives, swelling, itching, wheezing, vomiting, gastrointestinal symptoms, or reactions that appear temporally related to food exposure.

Best for: suspected food allergy, food-related allergic symptoms, prior reactions, or patients wanting IgE-based food allergy screening.

Important: Food allergy IgE testing should be interpreted in clinical context. A positive result does not always mean a person will react to that food, and a negative result does not always exclude all food-related reactions. If you have symptoms of anaphylaxis, trouble breathing, throat swelling, or severe allergic reaction, seek emergency care.
