What can this test tell me?
A CMP measures glucose, electrolytes, proteins and markers used to assess kidney and liver function. It gives several pieces of information from one blood draw, rather than a diagnosis by itself.
How should I prepare?
This test uses a blood sample. Follow your collection instructions about fasting, particularly when glucose or other fasting tests are being assessed.
